Support for Parents and Caregivers
You are not alone, and support is available. When you are in the emergency room with your youth, you can ask for help and support. You can ask to speak with a social worker or patient advocate. In some larger hospitals you can ask for a peer support specialist or call the Reach Out Oregon Parent Warmline, (1-833-732-2467) Monday through Friday, 10am – 4pm. They can explain your choices and what may happen next.
Ask about follow-up care, programs, or community resources that can support your youth and family after leaving the hospital.
