Know Your Resources
You are not alone, and support is available. When you are in the emergency room with your child, you can ask for help and support. You can ask to speak with a social worker or patient advocate. In some larger hospitals you can ask for a peer support specialist or call Reach Out Oregon for warmline support, Monday through Friday 10am – 4pm. They can explain your choices and what may happen next.
Ask about follow-up care, programs, or community resources that can support your child and family after leaving the hospital.
